WHAT ARE COOKIES? Cookies are small text files sent from the site to the user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the site at the user’s next visit. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive or transmit computer viruses or acquire e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some of the functions of cookies can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term ‚cookie‘ refers to both cookies and any similar technology.
Cookies can record information relating to your preferences, such as pages browsed or downloads of files from our site or similar operations carried out when browsing our site.
FIRST AND THIRD PARTY COOKIES Cookies can be first or third party cookies, where „first party“ means cookies developed by the site’s Data Controller, whereas „third party“ means cookies developed by third parties with respect to site’s Data Controller.
NATURE OF COOKIES Regarding the nature of cookies, there are several types:
Technical cookies Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of „carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information service to provide services requested explicitly by the subscriber or user“ (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are usually installed directly by the Data Controller or the operator of the website. They can be divided into:
– browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (for example, to allow a purchase or authenticate access to restricted areas); indeed, they are necessary for the site to work properly;
– analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve the performance of the site;
– functionality cookies, which allow users to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language or products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided. Prior consent of users is not required to install said cookies (more information in the paragraph on Cookie Management, below).
Profiling cookies Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by users while browsing the net.
Consent of the interested party is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to order no. 229 of 8 May 2014, the user must be able to authorise or deny consent to the installation of profiling cookies should there be any.
In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control of individual cookies and cannot control them (it cannot install them directly or delete them). You can nevertheless manage said cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below) or the sites listed in the „Cookie Management“ section.
The User is therefore invited to check the third-party website specified below.

COOKIE DURATION Cookie duration is dictated by the expiration date (or by a specific operation such as closing the browser) set during installation. Cookies can be:
• temporary or session cookies (session cookies): they are used to store temporary information, allow operations performed during a specific session to be connected and are removed from the computer when the browser is closed;
• permanent (persistent cookies): they are used to store information, such as a login name and password, so as to avoid the user having to type them again each time they visit a specific site. These remain stored on the computer even after closing the browser.
Once the connection to this website is terminated, so-called session cookies are not stored. The computer systems used for this site use temporary cookies.
COOKIE MANAGEMENT You can disable cookies on websites by downloading special software such as Ghostery (https://www.ghostery.com) for your browser and disabling the use of individual cookies or you can activate the „anonymous browsing“ mode – this is a function that allows you to browse without leaving a trace of your browsing data in the browser. This function only means browsing data is not stored in the browser.
Alternatively, you can disable/delete cookies by accessing the configuration panel of your browser.
ACCEPTING OR REJECTING COOKIES By continuing to browse this site, closing the information strip or clicking on any part of the page or scrolling to highlight further content, you accept the Cookie Policy and cookies will be set and collected. In the event of non-acceptance of cookies by stopping your browsing, any cookies already registered locally in your browser will remain registered, but will no longer be read or used by us until the subsequent acceptance of the Policy. You will always have the option to remove said cookies at any time through the aforementioned methods.
